Description

Are you looking how to make your wooden creations even more distinctive? Come and learn a selection of techniques on this artistic workshop with Pete Lloyd . Things you’ll be able to learn include:

  • Use of colour – discussing both paint and natural dyes.
  • Kolrosing – scribing patterns in the wood and infilling with a powder to leave a permanent pattern.
  • Texture – using gouges and chip carving.

A selection of wooden practise blocks and wooden spatulas will be available to practise on, but also feel free to bring along your own woody creations to decorate and make even more special!

Pete Lloyd

Pete Lloyd (@feralpete ) has extensive experience of wood-carving and tool-making. Part of the original Barton Hill greenwoodworking group, he has been carving spoons, kuksas and bowls for many years. As a recent assistant to Nic Westermann & Hewn & Hone in Wales he spent many months tool & jig making, including grinding and sharpening tools to the correct angles.
