Description

Eucalyptus bowl turned green on the pole-lathe and left to move as it dries. The specific orientation of the blank within the tree results in this wind-swept wonky form. A number of small holes appeared in the sidewall during drying, and these have been sealed with a glue made with urushi before a wiped natural urushi finish was applied to the whole surface. The wood was sourced from Chew Magna just south of Bristol via a tree surgeon, approx. 6″ diameter. The urushi finish was applied on my QEST training with Jack Wheeler in Norfolk.

Wood Miles: 11 Miles
Carbon Stored: ~ 107g

(Care Instructions – No dishwashers, no microwaves, and avoid metal scourers and soaking for long periods of time. Urushi also degrades in direct sunlight so store in the shade)
