Terms & Conditions for Courses

The course fee is for one person only and includes tuition, tools and basic materials. All tools are provided by me but you may bring your own tools along if you wish to. All courses are beginner friendly, unless stated otherwise. A selection of teas, coffee and biscuits are also provided.

Payment for a course can be made using the online booking system, or by contacting us directly and reserving and paying with a BACS bank transfer. Once a booking is made you should immediately receive a confirmation email. Joining instructions are emailed a few days before the course begins and will cover directions, times, what to wear and anything you need to bring.

Course places make great gifts. If you’d like to make a booking for a friend or loved one, simply make the booking as you normally would and then we will leave it to for you to pass on these details at your discretion. Alternatively let me know at who the participant is, so I can direct correspondence to the right place.

Students may cancel up to 28 days prior to the course date via a written notice via email. Under these circumstances a £20 cancellation fee will be subtracted from the course refund. After this time, regrettably refunds will not be offered, unless your place can be filled. We will advertise your course and in the event we are able to sell the place at short notice, you shall be refunded for the full amount minus the same £20 cancellation fee. Transfers on to alternative courses may be offered, but depending on availability and at the discretion of Tree To Treen. If you are booked on a course and do not turn up on the day then no refund or transfer will be given. You can transfer your place on a course to a friend at any point before the course starts. If you do wish to transfer your place to a friend, please notify Tree To Treen as soon as possible.

Tree to Treen reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course for any reason (for example, stormy weather, illness, a pandemic, government direction or restrictions, insufficient numbers etc) and shall not be liable for any consequential loss that may be incurred. I will notify you of a course cancellation or postponement as soon as possible. Under these circumstances, we will either be able to transfer your booking to another available class, offer a credit note against future course dates or refund your course fee in full.

Please take care when attending the Workshop. Please report any incidents when they occur. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may require payment for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

Terminology

When a tree has been recently felled and still has moisture in it, it is referred to as green. This wood is much easier to split and to use hand-tools with and also requires less sharpening of the tools.
